Adorned Review

Book Review:

Nancy Leigh DeMoss, now Wolgemuth, has written a gem of a book, a much-needed message for our culture, and a treasure trove of wisdom. And that book is Adorned" Living Our the Beauty of the Gospel Together. This book focuses on one of the most controversial passages of Scripture, and one of my personal favorites, Titus 2.

Written with grace and love, this book is chock full of truth and wisdom. Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth is a wise. knowledgeable, humble teacher and instructor. She is a Titus 2 woman, and I'm so happy and thankful that she has written this book. Our culture and the Church are desperate for the words and beautiful message it holds.

This is a long, big, thick book. One that is not meant to be rushed through or read in a flash. It is better to read a bit, let the words and message of truth sink in, and then read a bit more. This book is meant to last a bit.

As I mentioned, Titus 2 is a favorite passage of mine. I love how clearly and beautifully it displays the plan, design, and purpose of womanhood, according to God's Word and according to how He meant for it to be. Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth walks through the second chapter in thorough detail, carefully explaining each concept, each verse and what it teaches and what is all means and how to live it out. Even in the 21st century.

In the true spirit of Titus 2, the idea of older women mentoring and teaching the younger women was expressed throughout the book. Discussion questions geared at both older and younger women were included in the back of each chapter, making it the perfect book to read in a mentoring relationship. (Summer reading idea?!?!)

Adorned is heavily covered in Scripture, deeply rooted in Truth, and written with grace. You will come away encouraged, inspired, convicted, challenged, wiser and with a strong desire to actually live out this whole Titus 2 thing in real life.

I highly recommend Adorned, and look forward to referring back to it often in the future myself. It is one that will not be forgotten, and its legacy will live on for many years to come.
