Bubeck does a great job in balancing the need for Christians to be aware and conscious of demon activity, without sensationalizing or alarming readers. Throughout the book, he reassures readers that the battle is won through Jesus. This message can not be reiterated enough.
I found the book to be very informative and encouraging. Many times, Bubeck reminds readers to be steeped in the Word of God. He encourages readers to memorize scriptures so that the Sword of the Spirit will be ready at any time. I thought the chapter on bold confrontation really brought this point home. Demons will intimidate and try to strike fear into people, but the Sword overcomes all.
The only criticism that I might mention about the book is that it is a little dry in places. If you prefer to read non-fiction, informative books, you will probably not have the same response. However, I had just recently read Deliver Us From Evil by Don Basham, which included a lot of similar information and was set in a more informal tone. It was difficult not to compare the two books. I think it is just a matter of preference for the reader.
If you are interested in learning more about spiritual warfare, this is an excellent resource. It definitely encourages readers to delve into the Word and know their enemy.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Moody Publishers in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
