The Attributes of God Volume 1 Review

Book Review:

Anyone who knows me knows that I love books and I especially love A.W. Tozer books. God provided him a wealth of biblical knowledge as well as the skill to preach and explain that knowledge to others. He can quite often speak in a way that is above the average thinker, but I can appreciate this as it challenges me to think deeper about our God who is essentially indescribable.

The book includes ten attributes of God: Infinitude, Immensity, Goodness, Justice, Mercy, Grace, Omnipresence, Immanence, Holiness, and Perfection.

The chapters are aren't too lengthy but do include an incredible amount of information. I had to read through most of the chapters at least twice to really get a grasp on Tozer's insights.

The second half of the book includes a study guide. It has been developed in a way where it can be completed through personal study or group study. Although you can read the book without the study guide and gain valuable biblical knowledge, I do believe the study guide enhances the book a great deal. The study guide includes twelve sessions.

Session one is the introduction, sessions two through eleven are the guides to the corresponding Attributes of God chapters, and session twelve is a review which condense the information into a brief and understandable summary.

You can truly feel the heart Tozer has for the Lord by reading through this book. You will walk away with a greater understanding for who God is and who we are in His presence.

I received a copy of this book from Moody Publishers in exchange for an honest review.
