Have you ever struggled to read the Bible consistently? During this time of quarantine and viruses, we have some extra time for both culinary adventures and Bible studies. Asheritah Ciuciu discovered that combining devotions with breakfast can help make both more of a habit!
Bible and Breakfast, written by Asheritah Ciuciu, is part-cookbook, part-devotional. With bright, colorful photos and delicious recipes, Asheritah shows women how to combine a yummy breakfast with family devotions. She provides options for big families and busy mornings, making this devotional very flexible, and leaves plenty of room for personal response. Through the entire book, she keeps one goal in mind. Her hope is that women will start the life-changing habit of spending time with Jesus every day.
I tried a few of the recipes and had a fun time. Asheritah gives detailed instructions, the recipes are relatively simple and healthy, and they can be adjusted for big families. I had some trouble finding some of the ingredients, and my siblings suggested a couple changes to the recipes, so sme of the recipes might take a little trial-and-error and adjustments. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed changing up our normal breakfast schedule and reading the devotion a a family.
Along with every recipe, Asheritah wrote a small devotional to help women get into God’s Word. She provides the options to “FEAST” or to “Snack on the go”, depending on your morning schedule. For the busy mornings, she includes all the Bible passages and guidance, so you’ll only need her book with you. I really enjoyed having devotions with my family the morning I made Savory Pancakes. It was really neat to study God’s Word together at breakfast. I also read one of the devotionals while baking the Eggy Potato Casserole. However the devotions turned out each day, I really enjoyed our little cooking and devotional adventure!
To finish, Bible and Breakfast is a fun, practical way to learn new recipes and to spend time with Jesus. The devotions bring readers to God’s Word and provide an effective way to start a new habit by combining it with breakfast. I can’t wait to try out more of the recipes and read more of Asheritah’s devotionals! Maybe this devotional is what you’ve been looking for! It’s the perfect way to keep busy during this quarantine!
Note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for my review. This still is my HONEST opinion.
