Bible & Breakfast Review

Book Review:

Asheritah Ciuciu is an author of many talents - so much so that her new book is really two books in one: a cookbook and a devotional! “Bible & Breakfast: 31 Mornings with Jesus” is a lovely hardcover book from Moody Publishers with dozens of full-color food photographs and recipes, plus it is a multi-use devotional.

“Bible and Breakfast” helps us “Kick-start a morning habit of meeting with Jesus and eating a healthy breakfast every day.” By combining devotionals with recipes, Asheritah supplies us with the practical and accessible tools we need to transform our mornings for the better.

The devotional portion can be used either as a “snack on the go” for busy days, with a short but powerful reading that you can ponder as you go about your day. If you have more time, you can “feast at the table” on a Bible study that helps us dive into the Word, answer thoughtful questions, worship, and apply the new insights to our lives.

The recipes are very doable and each one includes a lovely photograph. They are comprised of very ordinary but healthy ingredients that I usually have on hand, and they are low in sugar content which I love. Many of them are make-ahead and freezer-friendly, and some of them are gluten-free. I have tried several recipes so far and they have each been a big hit with my family. I look forward to trying more very soon!

Overall, “Bible and Breakfast” is a wonderfully unique book that is certain to become a beloved volume for many women. The devotionals hit home and are good for any morning - whether short on time or not - and the recipes are yummy and easy to master. The gorgeous hardcover design and luxuriously thick pages make this a perfect gift as well. All in all, this book is a winner all around and I highly recommend it to help make mornings a time of peace, health, and communing with Jesus. Don’t miss it!
