Choosing Gratitude Review

Book Review:

So allow me to start off by saying that I AM NOT NEARLY AS GRATEFUL AS I THOUGHT I WAS. And yes this book informed me of this.
So you know how you just assume you are a grateful person because you always say thank you and send the polite thank you note. Well….Nancy Leigh DeMoss paints a picture of true gratitude. She reminds us that gratitude is an attitude and a way of life. It’s one thing to be polite and know how and when to say thank you. It’s another thing to live gratitude. When you live gratitude, you find yourself being thankful even in the midst of trials and tribulation. Perfect example, a couple days ago my son cracked the screen on one of our televisions. Now of course I’m slightly upset because it’s a broken TV that will require replacing however my mom reminded me of a reason to be thankful: at least there was no glass and no one got hurt.
I won’t say that I’ve got this method of being thankful in all things down…BUT I will say I understand the IMPORTANCE of being thankful in all things. I am striving every single day to be thankful and to be truly thankful. Being truly thankful means giving up the complaining, grumbling, mumbling, and all around negativeness AND seeing the beauty and the reasons to be grateful everyday. Nancy Leigh DeMoss encourages us to develop an attitude of gratitude.
Being thankful is not only is it beneficial to me but it’s in the will of God for me, you, and everyone else.
“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18
