This I Know Review

Book Review:

This I Know: Trusting Your Unknown Future to a Known God is a 6-week Bible study by Laura Dingman. I’ve been working my way through Moody Publisher’s women’s bible studies for a while now, and I’ve enjoyed every single one! Recently, Moody removed a majority of them from their review program, so I purchased most of the ones I haven’t gotten for free during their 50% off sale! They’re worth buying and doing over again and again.

This I Know is similar format to the other studies I’ve done, but there are two major differences. The first is that each week has a long introduction that was long text blocks for 4-6+ pages. The second differences was the last day of the last week asks you to look back on all the previous weeks and reflect on what you learned.

Throughout the study, Laura Dingman reminds the reader of many scriptural truths such as…

God made himself known in Scripture, and he reveals himself in creation.
Confidence in anything other than God is idoltry.
God is ALWAYS good and trustworthy. He does what is best for us, even if we don’t understand why. We need to learn how to submit ourselves fully to God and fill our heads with the truth about Him (what He’s done, and His good and precious promises).
God is our merciful redeemer, he restores us and will never leave us! His love is immovable and unshakeable. His love for us never changes when we sin.
Jesus is the cornerstone, our view of him decides the rest of our life.
Praying doesn’t change our circumstances, it changes us.
God is enought, and He always there, even when we feel like he isn’t. Learn to praise him when things get rough, He is faithful.
The Christian life isn’t easy. Cass your cares and worries upon God. Trials make us more Christlike.
Remember the promises of God every day, and meditate on how He promised new bodies free from sin, and someday we will be in Heaven without any more pain.
