I loved how relatable these stories are. Jack did NOT want to move, and he even devises a plan to be able to move back to the farm and out of the suburbs. He quickly finds that he likes the kids in his new neighborhood, and his plan starts to falter. Then the real excitement starts when they find an old bomb shelter in his neighbor’s backyard. I love that these are set in the 1990’s so it brings back a nostalgia to me, since that was my time as a child. It was definitely a simpler time, and it shows how kids used to use their imaginations and play outside for hours. Something that seems to be missing nowadays. I loved everything about this book, the storyline, the characters, the morals taught. My daughter is going to love these books, and I can’t wait to see her reaction to them!
