Jack vs. the Tornado Review

Book Review:

I enjoyed stories like this when I was a child. And I love the wholesome, nostalgic atmosphere this story emotes. It brings older readers back to simpler days and introduces younger readers to days gone by.

Jack is a great character and easy to empathize with. I know what it’s like at that age to move away from your home to start over somewhere new. And what a huge change moving from a farmhouse to city suburbs must be!

Tree Street Kids, a name for Jack’s new friends that live on streets with tree names, each have unique qualities and show growth as the story progresses. But what I like most is the spiritual aspect that is woven throughout this story in a natural, meaningful way.

Jack vs. the Tornado, book 1 in the Tree Street Kids series, with illustrations throughout, is a clean, sensible chapter book with memorable characters and a wonderful message for kids 8-12.
