Prayer Review

Book Review:

Prayer: Communing with God in Everything -- Collected Insights from A. W. Tozer was complied by W. L. Seaver. This book combines Tozer's thoughts on prayer into one practical, yet thought-provoking book.

Develop a life that prays. This book provides a deep level of understanding of prayer. According to the back cover copy: "Tozer understood prayer as few do: as a way of life. This volume will help readers capture that same grand vision. With biblical wisdom and stunning insight, Tozer...urges us to commune regularly with God and offers varied reflections on what that entails."

Each chapter focuses on aspects of prayer. It's divided into two main sections: Tozer Writings and Tozer Sermons, as well as Introduction: A Journey Awaits and Notes. The first section titled as Tozer Writings includes twenty-two chapters, and the second section titled as Tozer Sermons includes six chapters. This book features added commentary and reflection questions.

The Introduction states that this book may be used by individuals for personal daily reflections or monthly devotions on prayer, as well as by small groups for bible study and discussions. On page 15, Seaver shares, "If you are using this book for devotional time on prayer, the twenty-two writings, three snippets, and three excerpts from Tozer's Sunday sermons will take you through twenty-eight days.... May God incline your heart to pray more effectively and more pointedly in the days to come!"

Prayer is recommended and geared towards various ages, from young adults to older generations. It's an ideal book for those wanting to delve deeper into prayer.

Note: I received this book from Moody Newsroom, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
