As I young girl, I loved learning about Ruth’s story in the Bible. I wanted to be as kind, courageous, and loyal as she was. In Ruth: Becoming a Girl of Loyalty, young readers are inspired to do just that, by studying Ruth’s life in an entertaining and interactive way.
I’m a life-long journal-er and a lover of fill-in-the-blank type books, so this book is right up my alley. (Even though I’m way older than the target age, I still enjoyed it immensely.)
The book doesn’t only contain written text walking the reader through Ruth’s shoes and experiences, but also includes fun puzzles, explanations, helpful Scripture verses, quotes, illustrations, and fill-in-the-blank sections. I love the lined blank segments for notetaking or documenting things learned and observed. I also enjoyed the following repetitive stimuli:
Zoom out (getting the big picture)
Zoom in (understanding the details)
Zero in (finding out what it really means)
Zip it (learning what God wants you to do with it)
The underlying message of this softcover study book about Ruth is what it means to be loyal. It’s a wonderful Bible study for elementary school aged girls.
