You Get Me Review

Book Review:

I have enjoyed many of Gary Chapman's books so of course I had to give this one a read through as well. Unfortunately, it's not exactly as I expected.

This book is basically a take-along, pocket book. The purpose of the book is to provide simple, easy ways to put the 5 love languages into action in your life.

Chapman introduces the book with a brief explanation of each of the 5 love languages:

- Word of Affirmation

- Quality Time

- Gifts

- Acts of Service

- Physical Touch

Each section includes 21 different and unique ideas to display that specific love language to whoever you choose as the recipient. Some ideas would require the recipient to be your spouse otherwise it would simply be inappropriate.

I like the journal section they included at the end of the book. They provide a space for each love language where you can record what action you took, the date and any applicable notes. A simple way to remember what worked and what didn't.

Although this is a fun little book, I definitely wouldn't normally pay for such a book. I like the idea of people being creative on their own and thinking of unique ideas that are specific that each person. Plus, you can find a plethora of ideas all over the internet that coordinate with the 5 love languages.

I received a copy of this book from Moody Publishers in exchange for an honest review.
